Home Movie Day 2025
Join ENTRE Film Center & Regional Archive for its first home movie viewing marathon, aka WACHATÓN, with current RGV Archive Contributors. Community members of all ages and backgrounds are invited to join us for this free event, where we will share memories, experiences and reflections that arise as we travel through past lives together.
Are you an RGV filmmaker/director whose made a music video for a local band? Or maybe you're an RGV musician who worked with a friend to make a music video for your band? ENTRE and Breaker Breaker want to see your work!

At ENTRE, we’re constantly thinking about ways to activate the archive, designing programming that allows for our history to be inserted into our present moment, keeping it relevant and alive. Upon reflecting on our collaboration with TAMI, the idea of a moving image ofrenda came to mind as a way to activate the home movie collections we were to inherit.
Playa de Memorias aimed to create a space for elements of reciprocal love, joy, connection and validation, while also serving as a critique of the current landscape and the many risks Boca Chica Beach faces due to ongoing development of the private spaceflight company, SpaceX.

We had THE BEST time this past weekend facilitating a direct animation workshop with the lovely folks at Laredo Film Society! Participants learned about celluloid, the history of direct animated films, various animation and abstraction techniques (some invented their own!)...
