Greetings one and all, we are so excited to announce that all four of our CINESÍN direct animation community films are now available to stream via the Watch page!
These films were scanned in 4K by our friends at Mono No Aware in NYC last November, and we absolutely love how they came out. Each film has its own unique energy that makes it special.
CINESÍN No. 1 was produced at our first ever direct animation workshop at the McAllen Creative Incubator during Art Walk October 2021.
CINESÍN No. 2 was produced in the first quarter of 2022 via our second direct animation workshop, which went virtual thanks to the Delta variant.
CINESÍN No. 3 was produced by courageous 8th graders at Cathey Middle School during May of 2022.
CINESÍN No. 4 was produced in July of 2022 at our first direct animation workshop hosted out of town at our sister center, Laredo Film Society, in Laredo, TX.
Additionally, we have also released the recording of our CINESÍN event from December of last year. This event was the premiere of CINESÍN No. 2, which was accompanied by a live score composed and performed by Carmen Castillo with Kolade Adjibi, Brendon Sandoval, Danny Villarreal, and Jake Solis, members of Toro Bravo, one of the most exciting bands playing the Rio Grande Valley today. Following the screening is a Q&A with all of the filmmakers where they speak about their animation processes. Please watch, and enjoy.
